Best decision that I ever made.

I moved here to the Williams Lake Seniors Village in July of 2012 from the Carefree Manor in 100 Mile House.
Williams Lake Seniors Village would have Draft Horse Day in July and we from the Carefree Manor would be invited to come down for this function and I would make sure to have a place on the bus. I didn’t care about the horses I would just walk around the Village and tour the building. One day I phone my daughter and said O.K. that’s it I am moving to the WLSV and I did. Best decision that I ever made.
The suite has a lovely view and I have lots of room.
I just love the staff and I volunteer at the General Store which I enjoy.
If you are thinking of moving here don’t think anymore just do it, I did and it was the best thing I did. I love it here.

I should have moved into here earlier.

My name is Edna, I reside at the Williams Lake Seniors Village.

I moved to Williams Lake two years ago from Penticton, I have two boys that live here and they were very pleased when I told them of my decision.
I chose to move into a two bedroom basement apartment which I never should have done. In the winter the wind would howl through the windows and I was always cold. I never went anywhere, never met anyone, I was lonely. The boys came to visit but they have their families and their jobs so I didn’t want to rely on them.
Of course being lonely I didn’t feel like cooking, I was tired of cooking so I didn’t eat properly. I felt like I just existed.
I hated doing laundry for the machines seem so far from my apartment.
I should have had the smarts and listened to my kids and moved into the Williams Lake Seniors Village back then.
I am happier now, I am well fed, my laundry is done for me. I have plenty of company and friends.
You couldn’t move me out of here for all the tea in China.

I loved this place ever since I walked in.

I have resided here at the Williams Lake Seniors Village for four years. I loved this place ever since I walked in, it was bright, clean and cheerful. The staff here is wonderful they are interested in the residents. It is very easy to make new friends, and I would recommend to anyone to move here. I really don’t know why some one wouldn’t want to.
I am 91 and I must say I have had a good life and I am still enjoying everyday.

I am very happy here.

I moved into the Williams Lake Seniors Village after I had a fall. It took a little while to adjust but now I love it here, I wouldn’t want to live alone anymore.
The staff is warm and kind, they all want to get to know you.
Your life is what you make of it, make the first step and I know you will not regret it. I am very happy here, I have a lot of my friends that have moved in and I have made new friends too.
My children are very happy I am here, they know I will be cared for if and when I need the care.

My parents are very happy at Williams Lake Seniors Village

The decision to move to the Williams Lake Village was easy to make once my parendt found out the kind of lifestyle was offered. The apartment is beautiful and well set up. Having access to medical care if needed, is important and very well appreciated.

Everyone here at the Village is friendly. My mom volunteers at the General Store. Mom and dad both enjoy Happy Hour a recreation activity every Wednesday afternoon. They are really happy that they decided to move into this Retirement Concepts Community and we are too.

I am not lonely anymore.

After my husband died, my children wanted me to move into the Seniors Village, winter was coming. I lived in a big house and was very lonely.
I knew what it was all about because I had worked at the Cariboo Lodge for 23 years, 13 of those years as a Care Aid. I really like it here, I can enjoy the activities and I am not lonely anymore.
My daughters are very happy that I am here and they don’t have to worry about me anymore.

This place is like a resort for seniors.

When my Mom’s husband George passed away, I worried about my mom living alone. She lived in a nice gated apartment that was safe. She had excellent neighbors and friends, but I noticed she often seemed lonely.

The Seniors Village advertised that she could come and stay for a three day trial in their Guest Suite. Mom said she wanted to try it, and in one day of her stay she decided to stay. The guest suite was an easy place for her to stay while I moved her belongings into a studio apartment which she had chosen.

I noticed a change in Mom now; she has a lot more to talk about. She has fun activities almost every day that she enjoys and she is meeting new people as well as finding her past friends at the Village.

The activities are well planned, all the preparation work has been organized, and Mom just goes to activities and enjoys them. For instance Mom can hop on the bus and arrive at a picnic, not needing anything, chairs, food and itinerary are all planned by the village. Lots of fun outings are easier now. Some of Mom’s favorite pass times are games, puzzles, bus tours, the gardens and musical entertainment. When I ask her how her day went she now always says “Good.”
I have peace of mind knowing that help is just a push of a button away and some one will check on her. The variety of services available to Mom’s future needs reassures me that she won’t have to go through a big adjustment.

This place is like a resort for seniors. Our parents have worked hard had lots of responsibilities and had chores all of their lives and now it is time for them to have fun and play every day with no worries for either of us.
